The paper reports the findings of the flocculation and natural settling behaviour studied for two coal fines suspension using four commercial flocculants and two polysaccharide based graft copolymers. The experiments show that the non-coking coal suspension exhibit much greater resistance to settling than the coking coal. Amyiopectin-g-Polyacrylamide and Superfloc N300 performed better than the other polymers investigated.
