This paper presents several internal correlates of the use of specifica manufacturing planning and ontrol practices in 48 manufacturing firms in Ghana. our analyses show that firm size is not correlated with the use of any specific manufacturing practices. Also, the use of make-to-order or make-make-stock, does not appear to affect a firm's ability to provide reliable or dependable deliveries. Investment in total quality management appears to offer the most benefits with regard to unit manufacturing cost, higher quality products and delivery reliability.
