The objectives of this paper are 1) to identify and investigate some of the telecommunication technologies that enable BPR, 2) to develop a descriptive nrmative model for use in theory buildign that ntegrates enabling telecommunications technologies with BPR methodologies in organizations, and 3) to apply the model to an existing case study (A.E.Alter, 1990) to aid in constructing an illustrative set of propositions (based on the model) that describe some of the impacts of these telecommunications technologies on the orgnaization and the BPR process.
