DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR HEALTHCARE RISK MANAGEMENT IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES: CASE STUDY OF CARDIAC PATIENTS IN EGYPT

摘要

Risk management tools have been widely used in various fields such as Financial, Information Technology, Environmental as well as the Healthcare. This paper explores the adaptation of such tools to the healthcare industry in developing countries. In doing so, we explore the various obstacles facing the healthcare industry in developing countries, namely Egypt. A decision support system is developed to assist physicians in identifying the various risk factors and attributes that help predicting cardiac diseases. The model utilizes data mining techniques in order to uncover hidden patterns that may lead cardiac problems.
