摘要

Eddy Current (ET) method is an effective method for surface and subsurface crack detection in multilayered structure. As the eddy current interacts with a number of parameters of the test object e.g. electrical conductivity, magnetic permeability, crystal grain, geometry or presence of defect etc. therefore the major problem is to eliminate the unwanted signals from the signal of interest. In the Airframe structure which is so complicated that other NDT methods can't reveal the crack under the skin. This work describes the procedure on calibrating the eddy current equipment using specially designed calibration shim to eliminate or separate out the unwanted signal from the crack signal in the uner skin splice of the FOUGA Aircraft.
