A secondary spray cooling control model and its application for slab caster

摘要

A secondary spray cooling control with the aid of heat transfer mathematical model in continuous casting is introduced in the paper. The model is based on metallurgical constraints and heat transfer mechanism, and it can calculate the optimal water flow rates for secondary cooling zones according to processing parameters and caster parameters. On the basis of the water flow rates calculated by the model, the actual water flow rates of secondary spray cooling zones are controlled so as to obtain the best cooling effect.
