In order to save cost and decrease CO_2 gas for the environment of the earth, HCR(Hot Charged Rolling) is applied at many steel mills in the world. The key factor of successful HCR is nondefectslab production technology. However, in the case of middle carbon steel casting, slab surface cracks are often observed. This has restricted HCR application.
