Dynamic secondary cooling model for continuous casting

The quality of the cast strand is strongly dependent on the secondary cooling. In order to obtain the desired strand surface temperature profile under variable casting conditions, it is necessary to control the secondary cooling automatically. To ensure defect free products, the strand has to be coole according to a pattern which depends on steel grade, product and machine design.
