Behavior of inclusion and temperature in molten steel of tundish poured eccentrically from ladle

Molten steel is poured eccentrically from ladle to tundish in slab caster with two strand at No.3 continuous casting plant of Pohang steel works. Relative defects indexes due to steelmaking process in cold rolled sheet are different between X & Y strand. To investigate the mechanism on the quality eccentricity between the two strands, behaviors of inclusion and temperature in tundish was studied through actual test water and computer modelling. Those behaviors of the two strands were compared. Based on the researched mechanism, countermeasure was taken.
