Jet-centrifugal pumps find wide application for lift irrigation, specially from bore-holes due to certain advantages when compared to centrifugal pump alone. An efficient functioning of such a system depends on the performance of the jet pump, the centrifugal pump and the interconnecting pipelines. In addition, their operation should be in their respective best efficiency regions to get an optimum matching. The testing of such pumps in a laboratory must be in such a way that the jet pump really assists in the working of the centrifugal pump. Results of experiments conducted with jet pumps of different area ratios indicate the possibility of using this as a parameter for various water levels in the well.
