Horizontal GRP vessels may be supported in one of three ways; by two or more saddles placed at intervals along the vessel length,by slings which embrace the lower region of the vessel and are secured to a supporting structure,or finally by two longitudinal beams running the full length of the vessel.This paper examines these methods of suport and provides analyses to determine the maximum strain values in each case when the vessel is full of liquied.Experimental verification if indicated.
