After experiencing a slow but steady increase in measured primary-to-secondary leakage during Cycle 14, Maine Yankee decided in July, 1994 to perofrm a mid-cycle shut down to identify the leaking steam generator tube. During the ensuing tube inspections, several tubes were identified as having indications of circumferential cracks, a few of which were approaching the Regulatory Guide 1.21 acceptance limits.
