Development of RTM for landing gear doors at asta components

In recent years, Resin Transfer Moudling (RTM) has gained significant popularity as a fabrication process for the manufacture of composite aerospace structures. ASTA has develoepd RTM for the manufacture of various structures such as; landing gear doors for a commercial airline, and F/A-18 flap shroud. This paper discusses the process for the landing gear door and includes the design and fabrication of the moulding tools and the landing gear door, RTM process development, and certification issues.
