The real costs of library conversions to SGML/HTML: myth VS. reality

Success of legacy conversion might be the single most important determinant of your organization's success in a move towards an SGML environment. It can also be the single most costly aspect of the project. This session's goal will be to dispel the myths. We will present an overview of the key issues and illustrate them with real-life experience. We will discuss: keying vs. OCR vs. software conversion; what software can really accomplish; what you can expect in quality and how you measure it; what a "ballpark" quote includes and what it doesn't; and how to improve the probability of success.
