In this paper, some operation methods on a shock tunnel driven by gaseous detonation or combustion are discussed by means of the numerical simulation program of a detonation driver. The phenomena of pressure climb, the rules, and the avoidance under high enthalpy tailored states are investigated. The performances under High P_5 operation state are predicted, under which state the total pressure P_5 may be higher than the driver pressure P_4. The optimal tube length ratio and the test time per unit driver length for given initial ratio of H_2/ O_2 and Ms are discussed also.
