Automated rubbe-tired people mover systmes in outdoor winter environments can be subejct to availabilityu limitations because of inclement of winter weather conditions.Guideway heating maximizes system availability when vehicle runnign surfaces are exposed to ice,snow,and frost conditions.Maximizifng system availability while minimizing power ocnsumption are the two main goals of any heating system; however,these inversely related goals are difficult to combine.These goals cna be achieved through anlaysisk,design,control,and monitoring.
