In this study we propose robust production planning, which is an important area in the production planning problem. The production system we consider is a two-stage system consisting of part fabrication and product assembly stages. The planning objective is to obtain the production plan which minimizes the total production costs while satisfying the capacity constraints, and is less sensitive to the realizations of the uncertain values. Such a robust plan is important in the actual production environment. we discuss the production planning problem of the two-stage production system, and then present mathematical programming models of the problem to clarify the idea of robust planning with the aid of a numberical example.
