Sufficient safety distances must be provided for ordinary brick structures to limit the structural damage to an acceptable level, in the event of an accidental explosion. Keeping this in view, a series of blast trials was carried out on twentyseven brick panel walls of 3m x 3m size and different thicknesses. Average impulse loading values have been determined for various categories of damage. An attempt has also been made to formulate radii of damage for different categories.
