Recent dramatic advances in EB equipment design and in materials development have now made EB curing of pressure sensitive adhesives (and other coatings, of course) afford-able, practical and possible. Electron beam for radiation processing can now be produced at much lower voltages. This significantly reduces the size and cost of the hardware making it much more attractive. A paper at this conference by Jim Davis of AIT describes the advances of the EB technology. Our paper describes the materials development and their processing at ultra low voltage (30 - 85 kV). We had previously disclosed the polymer synthesis; now we will briefly review the synthesis as well as show curing results at ultra low voltage.
