Photodegradable Toners For Electrophotography I. Photodegradability of Matrix Resin

Phenyl isopropenyl ketone was terpolymerized with styrene and n-butyl acrylate, and the polymer layer was found to be removed by brushing-off after UV exposure for several minutes. GPC analysis revealed that the polymer degrades predominantly by random scission of main chain.
