CSCW systems are the distributed integrated systems that are closely related and harmoniously work together. They have being used more widely in applications for information management, office automation, concurrent engineering, decision support, process control, workflow, and collaborative workgroups. This paper presents an Open Architecture for Distributed Integrated Systems (OADIS), which is a framework for agent-based collaborative computing community on networks. The paper addresses the infrastructure and community reusable configuration paradigms of OADIS, which focuses on using object technology. OADIS possesses following features: wide adaptability, reusability of component software and tailorability and extensibility of the community. With the support of OADIS infrastructure and community reusable configuration paradigms, the development of CSCW systems will be sped up and become easier and more cost-effective. Also some construction cases of OADIS communities are presented.
