The osmotic suction pressure, OSP, of wetted mixture of Gairome clay and feldspar was measured by a centrifugal method and a suction pressure method It was found that the OSP increased exponentially with decreasing moisture content of the mixture at a given temperature. The relationship between moisture content, X, and specific volume, v_B , of the mixture bed was also measured For higher moisture range than the critical moisture content, X _c, a linear relation was found between X and v _B and its gradient, dv_B/dX, was equal to 10~(-3) m~3/kg. It could be considered that the shrinkage of the volume of high moisture bed was exactly equal to the volume of water evaporated off or dewatered off, during drying or dewatering process. By considering the characteristics of the wetted mixture bed, the OSP of the bed was expressed as a function of temperature and moisture content of the bed and a mass fraction of feldspar in the mixture.
