摘要

This paper describes the results in ESPRIT III (EP-6869) project Concurrent & Simultaneous Engineering System (CONSENS) to integrate various software tools in an intelligent framework. In this project, the framework system SIFRAME has been used as a tool integration platform. This framework system is based on the exploitation of another ESPRIT project, Jessi Common Frame (JCF) which adheres to international standards such as CAD Framework Initiative (CFI) and European Computer Manufacturing Association (ECMA). Siframe system does not confine to integration of a suite of CAD tools from a single IT vendors. It is a generic and open framewok system to incorporate a range of tools from diverse domains and vendors on heterogeneous platforms and provide conurrent product design and development environmnet. In CONSENS project, large number of tools are being integrated with different level of integration in Siframe.
