APPLICATIONS OF RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES IN A QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM FOR MEDICAL PRODUCTS

摘要

This investigation documents the effect of processing and the consequences of compounding of a medical grade compound. The changes in important Theological properties of the extrusion grade polymeric material system have been monitored. The results indicate that this compound does change appreciably from initial mixing stages to the final extrusion process.The use of ASTM D4440 Complex Melt Viscosity as the primary protocol does substantiate the global acceptance of dynamic mechanical Theological testing (DMRT) as an important quality assurance analytical tool.
