In this paper, 75Hz flicker reduction schemes for HDTV receiver are proposed based on the features of HDTV scanning format and visual characteristic. The effect of output images by each method is discussed in detail. As an example, frequency domain analysis of frame repetition method is given and theory of flicker reduction is introduced. At the last part of this paper, non-linear interpolation procedures, especially adaptive methods are discussed. Although adaptive methods are complicated in hardware implement, their good performances would bring them bright implement prospect.
