Until now, we have studied effectiveness of refining under reduced pressures for some glasses in a crucible experiment followed by continuous bench scale experiments. This time we made the special crucible size equipment to observe the behavior of bubbles such as their growth, coalescence and bursting under subatmospheric pressures. By using the-equipment, we investigated the relationship between pressure and temperature for bubble growth of a TV panel glass. The following results were obtained: Bubble growth pressure shifted to lower pressure with the decreasing temperature at reduced pressures. Bubble growth pressures shifted to higher pressure with decreasing the glass melting temperature, because oxygen refining became more active with increase in content of Sb_2O_5 in the glass melt.
