摘要

Various types of filters, membranes for separation of gasses with dusts or supports for catalysts require microporous ceramics with low thermal expansion coefficient, because those are operated under the severer thermal conditions such as quench heating or cooling. The authors have proposed a new process for the fabrication of polycrystalline porous ceramics controlled pore size and size distribution by means of the densification/crystallization of glassified compacts.In this study, the process was applied to fabricate the low thermal expansion porous ceramics with composition of LiO_2Al_2O_3-4SiO_2 (β-spodumene) , because β-spodumene have low thermal expansion coefficient.
