Na_2O-B_2O_3-SiO_2 glass film was developed on the surface of Na_2O - CaO - SiO_2 glass by Sol -gel process. The film was then changed into a porous coating after it was subjected to treatments of phase separation and acid corrosion. Effects of some technological parameters, such as the ratio of H_2O to si(OC_2H_5), ageing time of the solution, the schedule of heat treatment, the condication of acid treatment, on the degree of phase separation of the glass film were discussed.
