Enhancement of the CRMA-II protocol by distributed marking

The CRMA-II protocol has been proposed as access scheme for high speed networks based on slottedring topologies. In this paper, a modification of the original mechanism is discussed which shifts the task of marking slots as reserved from the centra] scheduler to all nodes. Simulation results show that this modification provides more fairness among the stations and some improvement in general performance.
