1. Removal of the anthracite coal subfill and the installation of newly designed underdrain assemblies on both of the test vessels allowed for an increased amount of throughput per regeneration as expected. For the anion vessel, it also resulted in the reduction of rinse times which saves from 3 to 23 hours per regeneration.
