DEVELOPMENT OF CHINESE TELETEXT

In this paper, a data broadcasting network, which is developed on the base of the teletext system, is presented. Teletext is a new broadcasting system which transmits data during the vertical blanking interval of television signals. There are four standards believed to be more perfected and have been recommended by the CCIR: WST in Britain, French ANTIOPE, NAPLAS in North-American and Japanese Hybrid. In our country, research works of Chinese Code System Teletext(CCST) were started in 1986, the techniques are now more fully developed. Recently, not only the national specification of Chinese Teletext is drawn up, and also Chinese teletext test broadcasting has been started at some television stations. The emergence of Chinese teletext is just in a information time with the rapid developing of computer and communication technology, so that it puts forward some new demands such as the connection networks of teletext, computer and communication, further raising the data transmission rate, expending the transmission capacity and the storage of the information, enciphering for some specialized information or business and so on. A data broadcasting network extended from teletext system, which meets all the demands described above, is presented in this paper.
