Design considerations for optimizing ozone disinfection using eductors to transfer ozone and pipelines as the contactor for two lake tahoe water suppliers

The Environmental Protection Agency and Nevada Division of Health have approved of an exemption of filtration with disinfection as an acceptable means of meeting surface water treatment requirements for Lake Tahoe water supplies. The s upplies, however, must have offshore deep water intakes, be located away from the mouth of streams, and have completed a watershed sanitary survey that shows that sources of potential contamination are and will be avoided.
