Treatment of textile wastewaters from several dyeing and finishing plants by a continuous process of ozontion and chemical coagulation is investigated. The experimental results have indicated that good treatment efficiency in terms of color and COD reductions can be attained in such a combined treatment train. Activated sludge process was ound to beneficially complement the combined ozonation and chemical coagulation in further reducing the wastewater COD content. Preliminary economic analysis of the process indicates that ozonation for decolorization is highly competitive in terms of its total cost when compared with that using decoloring agent.
