An adaptive control strategy for anaerobic digester

The design and implementation of a new adaptive controller foranaerobic digesters is presented using a general nonlinear model and anuncertainty estimation scheme. The primary advantage of this strategyover standard adaptive controllers is that biogas flow rate measurementsare not required. The resulting controller is similar in form tostandard adaptive controllers and it can be tuned analogously. Theadaptive control strategy has been implemented in a pilot-scaleanaerobic digester showing good performance and robustness againstchanges in the feed load
