This paper describes a direct conversion (Zero-IF) transceiver for the GMSK signal implemented by one DSP chip of TMS320C25. A single-ROM GMSK quadrature modulator is adopted which satisfies the CAI of CT2. The bit rate is 72kbit/s. The frequency error estimation and the timing recovery are all completed by software, which makes the receiver very simple. The computer simulation results are given, and the test pefformance of the actual system is satisfactory. The system is easy to be modified for different requirements and is suitable for integration.
