Ozonation of water rom the Merrimack River in Massachusetts,USA,was found to produce significant improvements in the water's treatment effiicency.An in-depth pilot plant study was performed on this water source to determine the effectiveness of ozonation in combination with conventional treatment porcesses and carbonadsorption.Ther pilot program demonstrated the follwing treatment imporivments resulting form ozonation:
