Development of Radiolucent Headholder Pins for Intraoperative CT-Imaging

摘要

A very innovative technology to support surgeons during neurosurgical interventions is the intraoperative computed tomography [1]. By means of this innovation the surgeon receives current diagnostic images of the field of interest [2]. Because of surgical manipulation dynamic changes of the intracranial contents occur during operations, so the preoperative image data doesn't correlate with the present operation field. Intraoperatively acquired images will provide the neurosurgeon with the online information he needs to perform real intraoperative image-guided surgery [3].
