摘要

In the present study, synthetically prepared Calcium aluminates such as CA, CA_2 and C_12A_7 (C=CaO, A=Al_2O_3) were subjected to hydration for different periods of time. The nature of hydration reaction and the heat energy associated with interconversion of hydrated compounds has been studied utilizing DSC technique. The hydrated compounds formed & their morphology were confirmed by TG-DTA-DTG, XRD and SEM studies. The activation energy values for dehydration of hydrated compounds were determined using Kissinger Plot and the results revealed that thermal stability of hydrated CA & CA_2 are very close to each other and higher than that of hydrated C_12A_7.
