Abrasion resistance of several kinds of shaped refractory products (including high alumina products and silicon carbide products) at elevated temperature is researched in this experiment using new high temperature abrasive facility. The result shows that the abrasion resistance of shaped refractory products has some relationships with temperature: at the temperature range of elasticity, the abrasion loss of the products almost has no change with temperature rising; at the temperature range of plasticity, the abrasion loss drops sharply after a fixed temperature. The abrasion loss of clay bonded silicon carbide brick, high alumina brick and high purity corundum brick begins to drop considerably at about 600 °C, 800 °Cand 1000 °C, respectively. The abrasion loss of Si_3N_4-SiC brick almost has no change during the whole experimental temperature (from room temperature to 1400 °C) for no elasticity-plasticity transformation occurs.The abrasion loss of shaped refractory products with different mineral compositions is also different: in the fixed range of temperature (from room temperature to 1000 °C) silicon carbide bricks show lower wear than high alumina bricks, for the main mineral silicon carbide in the silicon carbide bricks has higher hardness than corundum and mullite in the high alumina bricks. Otherwise the high alumina brick has better wear resistance than the corunduin bricks for the tight matrix and grains. At high temperature, the low melting point liquid phrase formed in the bricks decrease the impacting stress, which acts more than the minerals hardness, the abrasion amount of the high alumina bricks is smaller than that of the silicon carbide bricks at the temperature 1200 °C
