DESIGN OF AN UNBRACED ELLIPTICAL SLURRY WALL COFFERDAM FOR DEEP PUMP STATION CONSTRUCTION

An elliptical cofferdam has been developed as a support of excavation system for a proposed underground pump station. The station is about 46 ft. wide, 63 ft. long and 62 ft. deep. The Support of Excavation (SOE) system for the station construction has to meet a few criteria. The limit of SOE should be within the station property and also interference to other adjacent foundation structures is to be minimal. Also the SOE system has to be cost effective.
