DICOM in Surgery -Requirements for Digital Data Exchange in the Perioperative Surgical Workflow

The DICOM standard is widely used in radiology, radiotherapy and other clinical domains as a common agreement between device vendors about the storage and network communication of images and image-related data. Recently, efforts were started to extend the domain of DICOM to include use cases from image guided and model guided surgery. We present a list of possible work items which were identified to be a good starting point in that direction.
