Validating methodologies for evaluation of patient doses submitted to chest x-ray examinations

Reliability of methodologies for assessing patient doses is achieved through validation process. Absorbed dose in selected organs were measured in a Rando-Alderson phantom under chest examination conditions. Results were compared to dose values that were obtained by simulating the same conditions in the PCXMC~® computational software. Both methodologies agreed in an acceptable manner.
