When the bridge is built over a navigation river, there must be some structures such as embankment、bridge pier and bridge abutment and so on .which would not only change the boundary condition of river but also more or less affect and change the river flow and sediment transportation balance, and then would produce unfavorable consequence to navigation in mis channel segment It has been a difficult problem in engineering to restor these shallow and dangerous shoals obstructing the navigation in this particular condition of boundary. Dredge and hydraulic structures for training work are both primary means of navigation channel regulation. The means combining dredge and hydnmtic structures for training work has been increasing widely used in shoals regulation. On the base of characters of different conditions of shoals near bridge regulated in recent years in Xiangjiang river and Yuanshui river and model experiment data being analyzed, the means combining dredge and hydraulic structures for training work were taken, the experience of regulating typical shoals near bridge has been summarized in this article. This experience can be used for reference in the similar engineering.
