High gain dual mode microstrip disc antenna configuration

摘要

A novel low profile, high gain circular microstrip antenna configuration is presented. The fundamental working principle is the superposition of the radiated fields by TM12 and TM14 mode of thin circular microstrip. The proposed antenna is a single layer, inexpensive and easy to design. Owing to the high input impedance, a capacitive feed technique has been used to match the antenna. The antenna has a maximum broadside gain close to 16dBi with SLL of ×16dB.
