Electric propulsion with consumed power less than 300 W may find its application as a part of propulsion system on small space vehicles. In order to meet the future needs of the small satellite's missions, Shanghai Power Machinery Institute (SPMI) had developed a laboratory model of low-power hall thruster with 10mm average discharge diameter of accelerating channel. The laboratory model contains two main parts: the thruster module and cathode. The thruster module has the ordinary scheme with magnet. The cathode is hollow type scheme with set in heater for regulation of the electron current emission level. The structures of vacuum facility and the hall thruster propulsion system are also given.
