At commercially available rates between 100Mbps to 2.5Gbps, optical wireless technology has beyond radio microwave fixed wireless in terms of capacity. Combined with its many intrinsic strengths such as license free, security, and transparency, optical wireless technology is finally starting to deliver on its promise of high capacity in the free space (1).
