Next generation of network element clocks for multiservice switches (MSS)

This presentation discusses the benefits to network operators of tailoring the clock performance of their network equipment for the specific application the equipment is serving. What will be discovered is that contrary to some conventional wisdom, highly stable, independently accurate equipment clocks for all aspects of the network may actually be a cause for poor service delivery. Superior QoS (quality of service) delivery mandates a clocking methodology that can be adapted to the equipment's network application.
