Overview of research of space exploration rovers

摘要

MarsPathfinder succeeded in landing Martian surface and the micro rover could travel on Mars in 1997. Toward the turn of the century, several schemes sending an unmanned mobile explorer to the moon or Mars are being planned. This paper introduces the past rover missions and the near future rover missions. This paper also presents scientific signification, requirements and technology of planetary rovers.
