The thermal conductivities of two different compositions of yttria-stabilized zirconia have been measured using an absolute, steady-state method. The measurements were made in a one-sided guarded-hot-plate apparatus from 130 deg C to 950 deg C. One material has a predominantly tetragonal phase composition, and the other is predominantly cubic. The average measured values of thermal conductivity at 950 deg C. one material has a predominantly tetragonal phase composition, and the other is predominantly cubic. The average measured values of thermal conductivity at 950 deg C for the two compositions of yttria-stabilized zirconia are 2.8 Wm~-1K~-1 and 2.3 Wm~-1K~-1, respectively. The thermal conductivities of both compositions are nearly independent of temperature. The results show that both materials show promise as potnetial cnadidates for standard reference materials for high-temperature thermal conductivity.
