This works reports the fabrication of mesoporous carbon membranes made by the phase inversion of polyacrylonitrile and subsequent carbonization. The free standing carbonized films have continuous electronic paths because of the interconnected solid network morphology. When immersed in liquid electrolytes, the liquid fills the pore space of the bicontinuous network and this facilitates rapid electrochemical processes. Structural and electrochemical characterization will be discussed.
